I am Cristina Midosi and color and textures are my passion. As a native Brazillian, I grew up surrounded by sensuous and beautiful colors celebrating our lifestyle. In my twenties, I became an exporter of rugs from Turkey, providing discerning clients with textiles perfectly suited to their needs. My career path has been wide-ranging with real estate, jewelry and art rep among my endeavors and now I am an artist with thread and clothing as my mediums.
My Story
I love salvaging old things. My husband and I live in a 1957 vintage trailer which we restored to give it new life as our everyday home. This experience, plus the challenge of learning to live with less, convinced me that the best way to live is not as a consumer of, but as a caretaker for, things. From this philosophy sprung my passion to mend quilts, jeans, sweaters and jackets. I learned the ancient art of Japanese Sachiko needlecraft and began fixing cherished old garments for myself, family and friends. Their enthusiasm for the results convinced me to share my skill with others.
